Azopt decreases the making of bicarbonate and also reduces the amount of aqueous humour made in the eye. Both this activities help in reducing the pressure inside the eye caused by the fluid (glaucoma eye condition).

Azopt eye drops are used both as a single treatment and in combination with beta-blocker eye drops or prostaglandin analogue eye drops as per the eye condition treated.
