What is Careprost eye drop?

Careprost eye drop is an eye (ophthalmic) solution which is used for the treatment of glaucoma. Glaucoma is a condition where pressure increases within the eye leading to pain. It is also regarded as intraocular pressure. This IOP is caused by the accumulation of fluid (aqueous humour) in the eye. This increased pressure can damage the optic nerve fibres of your eye and leads to blindness. Careprost is a widely used medication which is very effective reducing this intraocular pressure. This medication facilitates the drainage of such fluids out of the eye which reduces IOP and helps prevent loss of eye sight. This medication is also used for the treatment of IOP without ocular nerve damage and hypotrichosis. Hypotrichosis is a condition where there is an abnormal growth of eyelashes or not enough to give you an aesthetic look you desire for. Careprost eye drop is a wonderful solution which allows you to grow longer, black and thicker eyelashes.

How does Careprost eye drop work?

Careprost eye drops contain bimatoprost0.03% which is a synthetic analogue of natural prostamide. Prostamide is a prostaglandin-like chemical compound that exhibits the particular actions on various tissues of human body. One of the important functions of this medication is that, it has a potency to reduce the intraocular pressure (ocular hypotension) in glaucoma. Intraocular pressure is a condition which occurs due to the blockage in the draining system for fluids (aqueous humour). Aqueous humour is formed continuously in your eyes to maintain normal eye pressure. Bimatoprost 0.03% binds to the receptors in your eyes as prostamide. This leads to increase flow of aqueous humour out of your eye through the trabecular network. Trabecular networks are the spongy tissues, which is the main route of drainage for the aqueous fluids. The drainage happens by decreasing the pressure-sensitive resistance and makes the fluids drain out by opening up the trabecular mesh. Once the flow ofthe fluidbecomes balanced, the pressure is reduced in the eyes. Thus, it prevents the damage of the optic nerve and blindness in glaucoma.
