Generic Celexa belong to the class of medicine known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. This antidepressant medicine affects the neurotransmitter. Neurotransmitters are manufactured and released by the nerves and then they travel and gets attached to the surrounding nerves.

 Generic Celexa is manufactured by different pharmaceutical companies located at various geographical locations. This generic medicine is available in the market under various trade names such as Citalopram, Cipramil, etc. FDA has approved the medicine in July 1998.

 Generic Celexa contains citalopram HBr that has a molecular weight of 405.35 and molecular formula is C20H22BrFN2O. In addition to active ingredient, it also contains various inactive ingredients such as hypromellose, microcrystalline cellulose, co-poly vidone, corn starch, titanium dioxide, cross-carmellose sodium, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, polyethylene glycol and glycerine.

Generic Celexa should be stored at room temperature that ranges from 15-30 degree centigrade. It should be protected from light, heat and moisture. Mechanism of action:
