WHAT IS PRODUCT DESCRIPTION OF TIMOLOL EYE DROP GENERIC?

TIMOLOL EYE DROP GENERIC is a drug which contains Timolol maleate as its main active ingredient. It is administered through the ocular route. It is used as a therapy to treat Glaucoma and other reasons of pressure inside eye wall. It falls in the category of beta- blockers and it is not given an oral dosage form to treat glaucoma. Glaucoma is a group of disorder of the eye. In glaucoma, the pressure inside eye wall increases due to fluid retention and as a result of this eye gets damaged.

HOW DOES TIMOLOL EYE DROPS GENERIC WORKS? 

GENERIC TIMOLOL EYE DROP is a drug which blocks beta-receptors present in the ciliary body of the eye. By doing this, the amount of aqueous humour is released or drained out of the eye. Timolol acts by blocking beta-receptors present on the blood vessels that supplies blood to the ciliary body. This leads to the blood vessels to constrict, and lessen the amount of fluid. 

HOW TO USE GENERIC TIMOLOL EYE DROP?

Formulation of Timolol used for Glaucoma is eye drop. Regular used dose of Generic Timolol Eye Drop is usually one drop in Day (may be one or two times in a day).

WHAT ARE THE HANDLING AND STORAGE CONDITIONS OF TIMOLOL EYE DROP GENERIC?

Before using your Generic Eye Drop of Timolol, cleaning of your hands must be done. Need not to touch the tip of Dropper. This Ophthalmic preparation does not contain any preservative, so don’t open the cap of the dropper until and unless you are going to use it.

Storage conditions of this eye Drop are:

  • Eye Drop of Generic Timolol should be kept between the temperatures of 15-30 °C.
  • Stop taking Generic Eye Drop of Timolol after its expiry date shown as “EXP” on the label or box.
  • Stay the children away from this medicament.
  • Protect/shield the medicament from Light and moisture.

  • The patients of myasthenia gravis (Abnormal weakness in muscle) should always avoid eye drop containing Timolol.

WHAT ARE THE DRUG INTERACTIONS OF GENERIC TIMOLOL EYE DROP?

WHAT HAPPENS IN CASE OF MISSED DOSE?

If someone missed a dose, take the missed dose when you remember it. But if you recall it at near the time of next dose, then missed dose should be skipped and continue with the next schedule.

Overdosed symptoms are blurring of vision or inflammation in eyeball. Contact your doctor if catch any symptoms immediately.
