Zoloft or generic sertraline is used as an anti-depressant under the category of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).  Serotonin is a chemical messenger that is produced in the brain by the nerve cells. The medicines cause the effect on the chemicals such as serotonin and nor epinephrine to make their level balance in the brain to correct depression and anxiety, panic, nervousness and obsessive compulsive disorder.   • Pimozide (antipsychotic drug)

  • Anticholinergic drugs
  • Antithyroid  drugs

  • Birth control pills used in hormone replacement therapy.

Contraindications of Zoloft:

The use of Zoloft is contraindicated with MAO inhibitors, Pimozide, Antabuse (disulfiram) drug and if the patient is allergic to sertraline.

Storage conditions of the Zoloft 50 mg:

The drug should be stored at room temperature from 20-25 0C. Keep the drug in a tight and light resistant container. Keep the drug out of reach of the children.

Missed dose of Zoloft:

Follow your regular doses strictly. If the dose is missed then take the medicine as you get remember but if it is getting time for next dose then skip it. Do not take extra dose to make up skipped dose.

Overdose of Zoloft:

Overdosing of any drug should be avoided. In case of overdose following symptoms can be felt like vomiting, fainting, convulsions, come like state, agitation, blood pressure may fall down or raise abnormally, tremor, hallucination or delirium.
